TEACHER CLIPBOARDS - HELLO KITTY

Hi Everyone!  Well, I'm kinda sad because Jacob's last day of Elementary School was Friday, May 25th.  My little boy will be going to Middle School next year - time just goes TOOOOOOOO fast!!! Sniff, Sniff!!!

Well, to give his teachers a little thank you for all they've done for him through the year, I thought I would decorate clipboards for them.  I also made one for his 4th Grade teacher because she taught him so much last year.  I saw this project on the Michael's website so I scraplifted it.

I bought the clipboards at Office Depot - each clipboard was $1.25.  At MichaeI's, I bought four sheets of "apple theme" paper for 4/$1.00, a pack of red pencils in the $1.00 bins, and the ribbon for $1.00.  So all in all, I had about $2.00 in each clipboard.

  • Using Cricut Craftroom, I cut out a square of apple paper measuring 11.25 x 9.5.  I used a corner rounder to round the corners on the bottom of the paper.
  • I adhered the paper to the clipboard using spray on adhesive - my new favorite adhesive for big projects.  LOVE IT!!
  • I cut the apple on top of books from the Hello Kitty cartridge at 5" and adhered to the middle of the clipboard.
  • I cut a border for the top of the clipboard using the Paper Trimmings cartridge.
  • I wrapped the pencil in ribbon using Tacky Tape and then tied a knot attaching the pencil to the clipboard.
All of Jacob's teachers loved them.  One said that she wasn't going to let anyone touch it because she was afraid one of the kids would break it.

Mom and I have also been busy putting some "Peggy Touches" on my house.  Mom is a master at making curtains.  I thought I would also show you some of the curtains that we put up today.  We also rearranged my living room.  My living room has been the same for 9 years so we HGTV'd it today.  I think everything turned out great.  However, one draw back, Mom and I will NOT be able to move tomorrow!!  HA!!!

(First picture is of my Breakfast Room Windows, the second picture is Mom working on curtain in my living room, and last picture is the finished living room rearrange!!)

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, MY MOM / MY FRIEND - Florals Embellished

Hi Everyone - HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the mothers out there!  We hope you have a wonderful day with your families!

I made this card for My Mom and My Friend, known to you as Peggy!  It's so good to have my mom living here.  We have so much fun together - I have a picture below of some of the fun we had today.  But first the card I made for her.

I used Cricut Craftroom to weld two "flower #4" from the Florals Embellished cartridge together to form the card base.  I then cut out all the layers and adhered them to the front of the card.  The sentiment on the front of the card was generated with Word.  I cut the sentiment on the inside of the card from the cartridge at 3.25".

Now on the fun that Mom and I had on Saturday.  We went and had a Pedicure together.  Mom actually got a Pedicure and a Manicure!  When we got home, we took a picture of our toes.  Well, Max wanted to be in the picture too showing off his toes, so if you look at the corner of the picture, you'll see Max's paw.

Now, notice the bling on our toes.  We had the ladies put "diamond flowers" on our toes because "A GIRL CAN NEVER HAVE ENOUGH BLING!"

Thanks for stopping by today - we appreciate your visits and comments!  Until another day - God Bless You!  Donna

Mother's Day Coupon Book

First off, Donna if you get this post, you are to immediately delete it and  not look at it.  Otherwise, your nose will grow.

I told Jacob several weeks ago I had an idea for him Mom's Mother's Day Present.  It was a coupon book in which he could give her some things that would mean a lot to her.  I had not begun to work on it when Provocraft offered the Digital Mother's Day Coupon Book.  It is a Craft Room exclusive.  It made my work a piece of cake.  I love it.

It has different page shapes, i.e., hearts, tickets, label, etc.  I chose the label pages.  I cut everything at 5" and it was so easy. I used Close To My Heart Lucy paper.  It is so pretty and feminine.  You can purchase it here.

The flower is cut from DCWV shimmer paper using Mother's Day Bouquet Cricut Cartridge.  I graduated the cuts down from 2" to .75".  Glue them together and the curve the edges.  I tried to match the ribbon.

Here are some pictures of some of the pages.  We are going to have such things as  One Day With No Housework, Hugs and Kisses anytime you ask, A Week of Showers With No Complaining (he's a boy), etc.  I even have one for Craig to clean her car inside and out.

I wish my Mom was still with us so I could make her a Mother's Day card.  She was a hoot.  I miss you, Mom.

Thank you for stopping by today.  May the sunshine of God's love shine on you.  God Bless You!!!!!  Peggy

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #138 - Priscilla's Victorian Hat

It is time for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge for the month of May.  Can you believe it is May?  Where does the time go?  For the challenge this month I chose Priscilla's Victorian Hat digi stamp.  I love this image and have used it before.  I tried to keep it muted this time.  See below for the Promarkers I used.
Card Recipe:
5X7 card base
Background is DCWV Adhesive Paper Cloth-found it at Joann's.
Frames are cut from Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge.  I can't seem to get away from EE.
Border punch is a Martha Stewart Punch.
Decorative Band is also a Martha Stewart Punch.
Digital Image - Priscillastyles' Victorian Hat
Promarkers used to color image - Almond, Putty, Sunkissed Pink, and Dusky Rose.

These are the two sketches you can use for this challenge.  Make it either clean and simple or fancy.  I do hope you will play along.  You don't have to use one of Priscilla's images but it would be nice if you did.  You have a whole month to complete this challenge.  I'll be looking for your projects.
 Clean & Simple
Fancy
Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope your week is a very productive and creative one.  We love to read your comments.  God Bless You!!!!  Peggy
