THANK YOU SO MUCH - Silhouette Cameo

Hi Everyone - does anyone out there love the Chevron design as much as I do??  I simply love anything with the Chevron design on it - and I really can't say why.  I guess it's because I think it looks so crisp and fresh.  Well, I needed to make another thank you card for my boss, Jean, so I decided to use some paper from a 6 x 6 pad that I bought on Clearance at Michael's this week.

It's a very simple card but I think it turned out very pretty.

I used a kraft paper card base and covered the top with the chevron patterned paper.  I used the left over piece of chevron paper but turned it over to the blue side and made a tab from it which I adhered to the left side of the card.

For the flower, I used a DCWV flower that came in a set of 15.  Guess what - I had forgotten I had them, like a lot of the things that I have.  I came across them while I was hunting something else and thought they would be perfect for this card.

For the sentiment, I used my Silhouette for the frame and the sentiment.  The "thank you so much" was a separate file that I filled with black ink, printed, and then cut out the frame and the trim on the frame.

As I said, it's a very simple card, but I think it's a pretty card.  Sometimes simple can be good!

Thank you so much for stopping by today - Mom and I appreciate your visits!  Mom and I are going to have a girl's weekend starting tomorrow.  My husband and son are going on a trip this weekend so let the fun begin!!  Until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna

BAD CRAFTING DAY

I don't know what was wrong Wednesday but Donna and I both had a bad crafting day.  I had an idea and worked on it.  Made the biggest mess of it.  I wanted to use Glaze markers on a card that had a cutout butterfly.  Disaster.  Back to the drawing board.

I sent Donna an email and asked her if she could have something to post.  She said she had an idea for a cute card so I thought everything was cool.  She messaged me last night to tell me she would not have anything to post.  She had worked on her card and could not get her materials to cut.  Disaster.  This is what she was trying to cut.

I went to Michael's Monday and found these new items, DCWV mat stacks of corrugated paper,  colored canvas, colored burlap and colored cork.  I called Donna to see if she wanted to share.  Of course she said yes so I bought one of each.

I made a card with the colored cork for my DT spot at the Paper a la Mode Challenge.  I will post it Saturday.  Donna was trying to cut the corrugated & the canvas.  She finally got frustrated and gave up.  So my task today is to figure out what she was doing wrong.  Going to start that mission shortly.

Thanks for stopping in today even though we don't have a project to show you.  God Bless You!!!!  Peggy

My Paper Shelter Card

Monday I told you about The Paper Shelter and how I won a challenge they sponsored.  They have darling digis, plain & pre-colored.  Here is my card I was working on then.

Here are the 2 components I printed and cut out from the file I got from TPS.
I didn't notice until I had cut it out that there are snowflakes on the background so I had to do something so my card could be a birthday card.  Flowers fix everything so I got out my favorite Cricut cartridge for making flowers for cards, Mother's Day Bouquet.  I cut out the different elements I wanted to use in the flowers.
The leaves & center flower part are cut from vellum.  I found some vellum at Michael's for $.25 for a 12X12 sheet.  I glued these pieces together & put them on the card.  I think if I did it over, I would make the flowers a bit smaller.  To my eye, they over power the little girl.  I still like the card though.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Max has become my crafting mascot.  He has taken to sitting on my lap while I craft.  I have a hard time creating with my arms wrapped around him.  I'm not sure his motive is to just sit on my lap.  I think it might be because he can see outside better from that vantage point.  Oh well, what can I say, he's a spoiled little doggie.  God Bless You!!! Peggy.

Two Shaped Camera Cards - Two Different Machines - Silhouette, Cricut

Hi Everyone - Man, am I tired - I've had a very busy, productive weekend.  My husband and I deep cleaned on our house on Saturday and then I deep cleaned my car today.  I think someone must have slipped me an energy pill but now I'm TIRED!!!  Oh, and I also made two shaped camera cards with two different machines for two different people.  I wanted to show you how you can make something similar but with the two different machines.

The first card I made was for my niece, Stephanie.  She is married to my nephew, Christopher and today is her birthday.  She is a photographer and collects vintage cameras.  I found this cut file in the Silhouette digi store - Vintage Camera.  I modified the cut file because the camera was not a card.  So I copied the background of the camera, then flipped it, and then grouped the two pieces together to make the cardbase.  The rest of the camera I simply cut out and assembled.

Now the next card is for a special little boy that has a birthday coming up in March.  Please read his story here - Colin's Birthday - I believe you will want to send him a card too.  The story is very moving.

So I thought I would make a camera card with my Cricut.  One problem was I couldn't find a "camera card" that I liked.  So I found this camera on the Locker Talk cartridge.  In Cricut Craft Room, I welded the base of the camera together by copying the base, flipping it, and welding it together.  Then I sized all the pieces of the camera to fit the card base.  Then I cut them all out and adhered them together.

I used the same sentiment for bother cards - A Picture Perfect Birthday is our wish for you!  I hope that Stephanie and Colin will both like their cards.  I hope you will enjoy seeing how you use one idea for two different machines.  Thanks for stopping by today - we appreciate your visits and comments!!

Until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna

I've Discovered The Paper Shelter

Donna & I have been entering our projects in some of the challenges in blogland for the past few weeks. I entered Buttons' Valentine in the Fab n Funky Challenge. Lo & behold, Buttons and I won.  The prize was a $20 gift certificate to The Paper Shelter website.  I'm sorry but I had never heard of The Paper Shelter, so I log in to their site and fell in love.

They have some adorable images, digis & papers.  They probably have other things but this is as far as I got.  I was amazed at how much you get for the price.  I got some beautiful Victorian Beauty Digital paper for $5 (24 sheets).  Look at what the images files have included.
You get 1 jpg and 1 png format B&W Digital Stamp, 1 colored digital stamp of the image.  You get a background layout and a background layout with the colored  digi on it.  All that for $3.00.
I have paid that much for just a black & white digi that I had to color.   You will want to take a tour of their site.

I am working on a card using one their images that I will share tomorrow.  I like to share good finds with you so I hope you will find this information helpful.  Just a little enabling here.  LOL
God Bless You!!! Peggy

Two Variations of the Same Card

I have gotten so I'm intrigued by clean and simple cards.  Now don't get me wrong, I still love my Froo Froo as Donna calls it.  I made these two cards real hurriedly just to prove to myself I don't have to spend hours on a card, even though I do on most of them.

Card #1:
A2 card base
Anna Griffin Cuttlebug Folder "Foulard"
Purple pearls & ribbon from my stash.

Card #2 - This one could be used for a guy if you wanted to.  It's made with Kraft paper, but in this picture, it looks like leather.
A2 Card Base
Anna Griffin Cuttlebug Folder "Matelasse".  The strip on the side is also a border included with this folder.
Pearls & twine from my stash

Give these cards a try.  You could use any embossing folders you have.  Thanks for visiting with me today.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy

Vintage Car Birthday - Doodle Pantry

I found out from Facebook, one of my bowling team mate's birthday is today.  So I had to get on the ball and make him a card.  He rebuilds old cars so I thought of this digistamp I had.  It is "Vintage Auto" by Laurie Wilson at Doodle Pantry.  I used the pre-colored version so that saved me time.

Card Recipe:
5X6.5" Blue card base
Background paper - Digital paper included with the Vintage Auto Digistamp.  I printed it out and cut it to the size I wanted.  The blue paper behind the image is also from the set.  I used Kraft paper for the mat & the banner.
Stamp - Heidi Swapp.

This card was easy but I think Mickey will appreciate the thought behind it.  Thank you for stopping by today.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

SYMPATHY CARD FOR JEAN - Cricut Expression, Sophie Cartridge

Hi Everyone -

I don't know about you but we are having some crazy weather around here these days.  Last week, we had snow here and this week, it's in the 60's and it's supposed to be 70 on Thursday!!  CRAZY!!

So I needed a Sympathy Card this week for my boss, Jean.  Her aunt that she was named after passed away.  I decided to brush off my Cricut Expression and make a card using one of my cartridges.  Well, I looked at several different cartridges and then I found a card that I wanted to make on the Sophie cartridge.  I did make this card out of the DCWV Paper Cherry Limeade - Mom has been coveting this paper every time she sees it.

Card Recipe:
Cardbase - Green Pattern Cardstock -4 3/4"
Oval - Pink Patterned Paper - 4 1/4"
Oval Shadow - White Cardstock - 4 1/2"
Birdcage - Cut two and layer with pop dots - 2 1/2"
Bird - Blue Cardstock - 2 1/2"

I tied white ribbon around the card and tied a knot.  I printed "With Sympathy" using Word and popped it at the front of the card.

Jean loved her card - I hope you like it as much as she did.  Thank you for stopping by today.  We enjoy reading your comments!  Until another day, God Bless You!  Donna
