Happy Monday - Cricut Explore Card

Yesterday was Donna's birthday.  Join me in wishing her HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  I love you, Donna.

I have been testing the Cricut Explore quite a bit since I got it.  I wanted to test it really good while I had 2 free weeks of the subscription in Design Space.  The following card was made with one of the cuts from Splendid Soiree Image Set.  It's part of the subscription..  I loved this card base so I cut it out in several different colors.

Card Supplies:
Card Base from Splendid Soiree Cricut Design Space File
Flowers - Mother's Day Bouquet.  This is my go to cartridge for flowers.  I set up a file in Design Space so all I have to do is open it up, choose my paper & cut, whatever color I need.
Pink Scroll - from the clearance aisle in Michaels
Gems

Here is a close up of the flowers.

Thank you for visiting with me today.  I keep hoping Donna is going to make something.  School will be out soon so maybe she won't be so tied up at nights with homework.  Anyway, we appreciate your comments.  God Bless You!!!!!  Peggy

A Card From My Cricut Explore Testing

Here is a card I made as the result of a test I did on the Cricut Explore.

I read where the Cricut Explore was supposed to do really nice cuts even on small images.  So I had to test that.  I chose an image from Florals Embellished cartridge that had a lot of detail to it.  I sized it at 1.5" and the Explore cut it perfectly.  I thought, that would look pretty on a card so I cut 3 in all.

I took an A2 card and embossed it with the Anna Griffin Sierra Scroll Cuttlebug Folder.  I think the pattern on the folder looked a lot like the image.  What do you think?
I pasted the images to the embossed card.
That is pretty but it needed just a little something else.  That's when I went to my flower stash & found some flowers I had gotten from the $1 bins at Michael's.  I think they were a good finishing touch.  There's plenty of room to put a sentiment when I get ready to send it out.
Thank you for visiting with me today.  I really appreciate the input from you.  My poor little Max's hair has grown so much it hides his eyes.  So today we go get him groomed.  He is such a good baby.  Lots of times he sits on my lap while I craft.  He can see outside better from that vantage point.  Until later, God Bless You!!!! Peggy

Well I Did It........

I've been watching the Cricut Explore & reading reviews ever since it came out.  I downloaded the Design Space & have been looking at it.  It's not perfect by a long shot but what I liked about it, is when you open a file it divides all the pieces you need on separate mat layers.  When you look at a file image, you look at the completed file, not just part of it.  In CCR, you had to choose each element separately.  In Design Space, you don't. That was a selling point for me.  So I went to my local Michael's today and they had one Explore so it came home with me.  I haven't had a lot of time to play with it but during setup, you are given a project to do so you can see how it works.  Here it is.  You may have seen it before as everyone who purchased an Explore probably made it.

The Explore writes the Thank You and then proceeds to cut out the card.  I was impressed with how well it wrote.  I'm anxious to play with this feature.  I'll be testing it over the next little while.  I love, love, love my Cameo, but I have way too many Cricut cartridges not to use them.  I'll let you know if Design Space & the Explore make using the cartridges easier.

Thank you for visiting with me today.  It's 'Hump Day'.  God Bless You!!!! Peggy

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CRAIG - Silhouette Cameo

Hi Everyone!  Well, today is my husband's birthday!  He's as much a kid about his birthday as my son, Jacob!  He has a list of things that he wants to do through the weekend to celebrate his birthday.  Do I need to say that he hasn't grown up yet?

So today, I bought him a cupcake cake made in the shape of an ice cream cone.  When I brought them home, he loved them.  Told you that he was a kid.  So I made  him a card because he doesn't like store bought cards.

I used a cut file for a pop up card on my Silhouette Cameo.  I think that Craig will like it.

I'll give it to him tomorrow night after we go out to eat and come home to eat the cupcakes for desert - YUM!!

Thank you for stopping by today - we appreciate your visits and comments.  Until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna

My Last Easter Cards (I think) For This Year

I got my Easter cards ready to mail today and breathed a sigh of relief.  Then I realized I needed two more.  With not much time, I remembered some printable vintage angel images I had downloaded from Wings of Whimsey.  This is a site that has vintage images all the time.  So I printed them out and set about making these clean & simple cards.

First I embossed each card with Anna Griffin Cuttlebug Embossing Folders. Then used doilies, pearls, gems and ribbon to decorate and twa la, I have 4 cards to send.

Thank you for visiting with me today. Your visits mean so much to me.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

My Crafting Bug Wall Hanging

In my March 18th blog post, I showed you a digi I had enlarged and colored as the beginning of a project.  Over the weekend I finished this wall hanging.  I think it turned out cute.  I made a card similar to this when I first got the image but I like him as a wall hanging better.

Project Supplies:
11"X14" artist canvas
Image - 'Craft Bug' by Priscillastyles
Acrylic Paint Colors - for the background - Turquoise, Lime Green, White (to lighten colors).
Scissors & Sentiment - From Cricut Everyday cartridge
Paper swatches - I drew a rounded square in Silhouette Studio Design, replicated it and filled them with patterns of digital paper I had added to Silhouette software.  I used the print & cut feature to produce them.
Flowers - Micael's $1 bins
Gems
Promarkers:
Lime Zest, Lime Green, Primrose, Magenta, Duck Egg, Cool Aqua, Tan, Light Peach, Peach.  I used a silver metallic gel pen for the scissors.

I hope you like my little project.  Now all I have to do is decide where to hang it.  I hope your week is filled with God's blessings.  Thank you for your support.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

Another Easter Card

This card was made entirely from a cut file from the Silhouette online store.  I didn't know it would take as long to make as it did.

All you have to do is choose your paper (you could fill the pieces with color in Silhouette Studio, then print & cut instead) and cut out the different shapes.  What takes so long is figuring out where to put the pieces, then adhering each piece in place.  I don't think I will be making another one.  The image # is 56993.

Thank you for dropping in today.  Please come back tomorrow for our Paper A La Mode Challenge at The Outlawz.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

Easter Blessings

The lovely Granmargaret commented on my 'An Empty Tomb' card and told me I could find some Easter images & papers at Daydream Designs.  So naturally to go to the website to have a look see.  I loved so many of their designs but I just bought the Easter products.  As a result, I made this card.

Card Supplies:
A2 card base
Digital Image and background paper - Daydream Designs 'Christ Is Risen Ensemble'
Label - Silhouette Online Store cut file #40619 - Stacked Label Set.  I chose 3 different sizes of the label, filled them with color.  On the white one, I placed one of the cross images & a sentiment from the Christ is Risen Ensemble.  Then I printed them and the Cameo cut them out.  This particular image was pre-colored so it was a very easy card.
